Manufacturing Medications With FDA Compliance
Very few people would say that pharmaceuticals affect our life in a major way. However very few people will live from birth to death without needing pharmaceuticals in some way. There is no age limit to who will use pharmaceuticals be it babies, teenagers or the elderly. We are protected from dangerous drugs and illegal medicines through FDA Compliance and regulations governing the industry.
Medication affects many people on a daily basis. So it is likely that we are concerned over the rising costs of medication. You cannot ignore your need for medicines no matter how much they damage your finances. People suffering from certain diseases have to take the drugs they are prescribed no matter what they cost. Hence there is a great need to regulate the prices of drugs, at least to watch that its price is not much above the cost incurred plus a marginal profit for the manufacturing company. At the moment some companies are charging extraordinary prices for their medicines.
Big pharmaceutical players in the market also pay much attention to research and development of new medications. R & D uses up millions of pounds of a company’s money every year. The miracle drug which can cure many ailments is something that every business is interested in finding. However the FDA or regulatory authority must pass any drug before it enters the market. FDA compliance governs the stages of research, development and manufacture that have been undergone for any new drug before being exposed to consumers. Only once the drug has been approved by the FDA can it enter the market.
Even before any drug is presented to FDA it undergoes intensive testing which is carried out on animals and even humans. During these tests the effectiveness of the drug will be confirmed and side effects will be examined and improved. These tests are to make sure that there is limited risk to patients when they take these drugs.
With the high growth rate in the pharmaceutical industry all the companies employed in this sector are facing tough competition. The marketing of drugs is also regulated by the FDA to ensure that companies cannot oversell their products to consumers.
