Type one diabetes is often referred to as Diabetes Mellitus and Juvenile Onset Diabetes. Type one diabetes is when the body has attacked the pancreas, which has the cells that produce the hormone called insulin. So, to be safe, when you start experiencing the 1st indication of Type one diabetes you want to inform your consultant as soon as possible so that they can schedule a glucose tolerance test to accurately establish whether you are a diabetic or not.
Do not instantly presume that one of these symptoms is related to something else. The truth is you may never know. You may inform your physician as quickly as possible because if left untreated, blood glucose levels will continue to rise which can lead to a diabetic coma, ketoacidosis and doubtless even death.
